Wyandot County Equine Rescue

Adopted Equines!

_______________________________________________________________________________

Cricket

Cricket is a 12-year-old Tennessee Walker mare who came to us in November, 2006. She was in desperate need of rehab, as she was emaciated and full of parasites. She has made a wonderful recovery, though, and has been adopted to a home where she will continue her training.

Danny

Danny, a blind miniature Donkey gelding, was adopted to a therapy farm where he will assist in helping children overcome emotional difficulties.

Shasta

Shasta was adopted in 2006 by a young woman who is now showing her in hunt/jump competitions. We are so glad we could have played a part in rescuing Shasta from certain death, and helping her find the perfect person to love her.

Samara

Samara, a red roan pony, was adopted as a lesson pony, and is currently learning to pull a cart. Like Shasta, she came to us as an emergency rescue and was one of our favorites. We are glad she has a new, peaceful life.

Chunky

Chunky was adopted after spending a couple of years with us. With a little more training, he will spend his life as a trail horse, which he loves.

Athena

Athena was adopted, and has become a wonderful riding horse and companion!

Maya

Maya is a 20+ year old mare who has a new career as a lesson horse!

Bob and Tom

Bob and Tom, the goats we received from a cruelty case in Marion County in March, 2007, have been adopted! Pictured here is Bob.

Zack

Zack and Spice were adopted together after being nursed back to health at WCER. They had come to us after being seized in a cruelty case in Marion County in March, 2007. They have fit into their new herd quite nicely!

Spice

Spice and Zack were adopted to a wonderful home in West Virginia, where they have fit into their new herd quite nicely. Spice has been renamed Sophie. She came to us in March from a cruelty case in Marion County, and we are happy she has a chance at a new life.

Miss G

Ginger

Ginger, a miniature horse that came from the Marion County cruelty case in March of 2007, was adopted with Miss G the goat, and spends her days happily grazing and being spoiled by her new owners.

Misty

Misty, a Halflinger mare, was adopted by one of our previous staff members and will be going to her new home near Toledo soon.

Teddy

Teddy was rescued by a caring woman who realized that she didn't have the resources to care for him once he was out of his former home. He has been adopted, along with Laverne, and will very likely be ridden by a young girl who has fallen completely in love with him.

Laverne

This picture really doesn't do Laverne justice. She came in as part of a cruelty case in March of 2007 (seen here the day she came to us), and since this picture was taken she became the stunning Standardbred she was born to be. She and Teddy were adopted together, and we're glad they were both given a new lease on life given their history.

Nicky

Nicky, a pony gelding, was adopted to be ridden by their grandchildren, and to be a family pet. He was one of our favorites while he was in our care, and we're pleased he has such a good new life.

Kaycee

While we were sad to see her leave, we were able to find a wonderful home for Kaycee where she can look out over the lake every day. She had chronic cribbing issues which her adopters are capable of dealing with.

Sierra

Sierra, a Quarterhorse mare, was adopted to be a companion horse. She was with us for a year and a half and in that time became a treasured member of her herd. Sierra has a great new home and we couldn't be happier with her outcome.
