Wyandot County Humane Society
Equine Rescue Program
Currently in Rehabilitation
We receive many calls for assistance and in all cases we
will do everything we are able, to help the animals in need. Many of the equines
brought to our rescue are in serious need of lifesaving medical treatment, hoof
care and nourishment. Our cases range from 18 neglected equines in one
neighboring county to one starved horse in another, to a miniature mule
surrendered because his owner’s health is poor.
Our wish is to provide all equines surrendered to our rescue, food and vet care,
peace and relief from pain. It costs thousands of dollars to rescue and
rehabilitate a horse or donkey. With your help we can continue to provide for
the many who come to us hungry, desperate, frightened and reaching out with
hope. Average routine care per horse for a year comes to around $3,000. Broken
down throughout the year, it is $250 per month.
Please know that any donations are appreciated -- $5 provides grain for a horse
for one day!
