By Appointment
Call to Schedule!
Appointment Times:
Mon-Weds 12-4 & Sat 11-2
Available animals are listed below via PetFinder.
They're only a small portion of the animals in our care.
We try to post animals as soon as they’re available, so check back regularly for updates! All dogs, cats & most exotics are spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter.
Equine adoptions are by appointment only.
Adoptions are a 2-Step Process
Step 1— Visit our shelter! (Appointments Required)
The animal of your choice will be reserved for you at the time of scheduling. (Prospective adopters may be shown multiple animals, subject to availability.) Not sure what you're looking for? Our adoption counselors can help!
Step 2— Pick up your new pet!
Pickups are generally 3-5 business days after completing adoption paperwork at your in-person appointment. This allows HOPE Clinic time to prep your new pet for their forever home! Once the animal is ready, we'll call you to coordinate pickup. (Pickup times are generally in the evenings.)
Helpful Information
All adoptions require an in-person appointment.
Interested adopters must complete a pre-adoption questionnaire.
No animal leaves the shelter on the day they’re adopted. (3-5 business days is standard for adoption pickups.)
Adoptions are only approved to homes in which all other animals are spayed/neutered.
Our adoption contract is legally binding.
WCHS Board of Directors must approve all adoptions before animals are released to their new homes.
Pet Adoption Guidelines
Note: Separate rules apply to Equine Adoptions.
Animals must be kept inside as family pets.
Adopted cats are never allowed outside.
Adopted dogs are allowed outside only on a leash, tie-out or within secure, fenced enclosures (not invisible fencing) & are never to be outside when no one is at home.
All adopted animals remain the property of WCHS for life— if the adopter cannot keep them for any reason, the animal must be returned to WCHS.
Other rules apply as circumstances warrant.
